About Our Company
In the Fall of 1998, the two founders, Ted Borgstadt and Dr. Clint Gabbard, planted the seeds of TrestleTree. Mr. Borgstadt was the co-owner and managed three retail pharmacies in Northwest Arkansas. Dr. Gabbard was the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Purdue University. Their friendship spanned over two decades, when Clint and Ted played football for the Evangel College in Springfield, MO.
Dr. Gabbard would routinely lead professional development training sessions for the pharmacy staff members. Through Mr. Borgstadt's desire to maximize a retail pharmacist's skills and knowledge base beyond the dispensing counter and with Dr. Gabbard's understanding that additional skill sets could be developed by the pharmacists to empower them to move away from a role of dispensers of drugs and information, an idea began to germinate.
The idea was to craft a revolutionary relationship in health care. One that leveraged the trust, credibility, and the unique intellectual property of a pharmacist, but quickly added training that would create deep relationships of influence and trust. Personal Health Coaches would be placed in a position to support the best hopes of individuals endeavoring to live healthier lives.
On April 1, 2000, TrestleTree was founded. A company that believes people who have a life-sentence of a chronic illness can make measurable, sustainable changes in their own health when they are influenced by a highly trained and skilled healthcare professional, a Personal Health Coach (PHC).
